Production Tables/Art Deco Plant Stand

These Tables are Art Deco inspired with a three-legged base and a custom-painted top, often paired well with a house plant. The legs are made from English Ash and are tapered to give an elegant look to the tables. The tops are painted to a custom colour chosen by the client and finished with a natural clear coat.

The Plectrum table was inspired by its namesake, a guitar plectrum. With a three-legged base, the table is sturdy enough that you could even perch on it and play the guitar. The whole table is made from English Cherry and features curved support rails and tapered legs in a pseudo-Mid-Century Modern style.

An english oak handmade console table
The Woven Console

The console was designed in accord with the brief given by William Hands for the Gordon Russell project. The concept of this project was to showcase English hardwoods without the use of any imported material. The console’s main feature is the three woven panel drawer fronts. The frames of the drawers are made from English cherry and display seven different English species in the weave: Beech, Sycamore, London Plane, Ash, Oak, Walnut and Chestnut. The Console itself is comprised of a mitred English oak carcass, with sycamore drawers and woven panel fronts. This is sat upon frame of English oak inspired by the branches of an Oak tree. The shelf below is for the storage of magazines or decorative items.

AHEC Whiskey Cabinet

The whiskey cabinet was designed in collaboration with the American Hardwood Export Council. They provided selected timbers that they believed were undervalued in the furniture-making industry. The whiskey cabinet has woven American red oak panel doors with American cherry frames. In the centre is a space for storing preferred drinks and has a drawer below for keeping any accessories. The main body of the cabinet is made from American red oak, a warm, reddish-brown hue that compliments the whiskey’s colour. The floating tongue and grove back panel is also American red oak. The drawer front is American cherry with American soft maple for drawer sides and base, with an American black walnut handle. American Cherry, American Red Oak, American Black Walnut.

These nesting tables were designed in a Mid-Century Modern style and as the name suggests they nestle together. The three tables can stack perfectly one over the other and can be made with any choice of material. The material used for this set of tables is an African mahogany called Utile. It was chosen by the client to contrast the greyscale of the room that the tables would go into.
